The robot disinfection cabinet is programmed to detect when the robot is approaching and to open its door automatically. The robot positions itself in the cabinet and then sensors check that there is nothing live in the cabinet. Once confirmed, the door of the cabinet is closed and UV light is used to disinfect the robot. The whole process takes six minutes and the robot is ready to go onto its next visit/assignment. No involvement of staff is required at any stage of the process.
